Описание (description): Page contains data on three-dimensional ultrastructure of different types of both synapses and neurons obtained using 3D reconstruction from serial electron microscopic (SEM) sections, under different levels of functional synaptic activity including long-term potentiation (LTP), hibernation bout of Groung squirrel, artificial hypothermia (cooling) and awakening from torpor. At the Synapsis 3D structure of synapses on both dendritic spines and shafts and their postsynaptic densities (PSDs) are presented and some features of perisynaptic astroglial interaction are discussed. Special attention devoted to both synaptic and extrasynaptic interface and thickness of PSD of different types of spines. Here not only do I present some results from studying of 3D structure of taste bud cells, but I also show mitotic activity of basal neuroepithelial stem cell in taste bud, and also epithelial and immune cells like dendritic Langerhanse cells, and also the mitotic activity in hippocampal formation during hibernation cycle or under artificial hypothermia and hypoxia-hypercapnia. Besides that here some modern methods of volume-oriented morphometry and stereological (volumetric) technique which are followed by contemporary statistical approaches are discussed. Synapsis also contains results of experimental study regarding stability of protein-synthesizing system of hippocampal and cortical neurons subjected to gamma-irradiation, and contains also results concerning biomedical research of Alzheimer’s disease with using nanotechnology or nanobiotechnology of fullerenes, and results regarding in vitro and in vivo effects of a perfluorocarbon emulsion (perftoran) on CNS neurons.
